Fake news and coronavirus. Detection of the main actors and trends through the analysis of conversations on Twitter

The global health crisis arising from the spread of Covid-19 has led the WHO to coin the term infodemic to define a situation of fear and insecurity in which the spread of false information has become widespread. These hoaxes take advantage of this type of emotions to spread faster than the coronavirus itself, generating fear and mistrust in the population.

The spread of these lies, part of which circulates through social networks, is dangerous because it affects health and can worsen the contagion and cause the death of people.

This research aims to analyze and visualize the network woven around the false news that circulates on Twitter about the coronavirus pandemic through the technique of social media analysis. NodeXL Pro software has been used.
