White Paper on Artificial Intelligence and Law
This book is a strategic document with criteria and recommendations for the responsible adoption of AI in the legal field.
The main objectives of this book are:
To define the current landscape of available tools. To identify the most relevant ones and their main uses for optimizing processes, improving efficiency, facilitating legal research and investigation, personalizing services, and ultimately, generating competitive advantages for professionals.
To clarify the landscape in Spain. To provide data on the degree of AI adoption in law firms, the tasks it is currently being used for and those it can be used for, the level of knowledge available, training and investment expectations, as well as an overview of the perceived impact AI may have on the practice of law.
Analyze impacts and risks. Address the changes that may occur in the professional practice of law with the emergence of AI, consider its ethical and deontological implications, as well as the risks arising from the functioning of the systems themselves.
To offer a solid framework for action. To establish practical guidelines considering that it is a complement to, and not a substitute for, the work of a lawyer, given that AI in the legal field (as in others) will require special human oversight.
