7. Deontology
In the last few years there have been some far-reaching legal reforms that have particularly affected the organization of collegiate professions; specifically, we refer to Law 17/2009, of November 23, on free access to service activities and their exercise; Law 25/2009, of December 22, modifying various laws to adapt them to the Law on free access to service activities and their exercise; Law 2/2007, of March 15, on professional societies; Law 34/20006, on access to the professions of lawyer and court attorney and the Regulation that develops it, Royal Decree 775/2011, of June 3; and Law 18/2011, of July 5, regulating the use of information and communication technologies in the Administration of Justice.
Faced with these changes in our legal system and for its adaptation to them, this Consejo General It is proceeding with the reform of the General Statute. The Plenary of Consejo General of the Legal Profession approved on March 6, 2019 the Code of Ethics for the Legal Profession whose entry into force will take place on May 8, 2019, taking advantage of the celebration of the XII National Congress of the Legal Profession, which is held in Valladolid from May 8 to 11, for its presentation.

Council Directive 89/48 / EEC of December 21, 1988 on a general system of recognition of higher education qualifications that sanction professional training of a minimum duration of three years is repealed by Directive 2005/36 / CE of the European Parliament and of the Council, of September 7, 2005 relative to the recognition of professional qualifications. The deadline for its transposition into national law is October 20, 2007.
